This year we have done lots to improve the farm. We have more than doubled our acreage of pumpkins and produce! Whew! That was a lot of work! All those crops translate into more pumpkins, more variety, and more fun! Some of the improvements this year include:
More animals - a new llama and pig, a guinea fowl, more rabbits and an outdoor pen for them. We have the addition of feed stations for folks to feed the animals. Of course, we still have lots of chickens, several cows and dogs. We plan to get goats by the time the pumpkin patch opens.
We have a corn maze with over 1/4 acre of corn. The corn is tall, we used popcorn and had to struggle to keep ahead of the crows.
The hay maze is more than twice as big as last year and is in a bigger barn than last year.
Flowers, we have lots more cut flowers this year in an area that is pretty to stroll. The zinnias are especially pretty this time of year as are the sunflowers and statice.
We have more picnic tables this year for folks to take a break.
We have an improved covered area in a barn in the case of rain.
We will have improved parking and traffic flow during the busiest periods. |
