Happy August and Blueberries from Bella Organic

Happy August Everyone! *We hope your summer is looking bright and you are getting lots of fresh organic fruits and veggies! Our blueberries are looking awesome, big and juicy! As of this week we have organic carrots, sunburst squash, zucchini, English and pickling cukes, red and green lettuce, cantaloupe, blackberries, elephant and spicy garlic, onions, heirloom tomatoes, cherries ( last week for cherries), peaches, apples, corn,raspberries, green beans, cabbage and lots of blueberries at the stand. *Monday, August 8th will be the last day to sign up for Bella Organic and Delilah’s Farm Dinner, get on our website and buy your tickets. Don’t forget OSU soil scientist James Cassidy and Willamette Valley winemaker Nina Mansell from Emerson Vineyards will be speaking at the dinner. It will be held Saturday August 13th, 2011 at Bella Organic Farm. *Blackberry U-Pick will be starting very soon, so when you head out to get your blueberries don’t miss out on some yummy blackberries! We will have Mrs. Hashem’s home-made blackberry cobbler recipe on next week’s newsletter so make sure to check it out. *Do you love canning or want to start canning? Come out to the farm and pick up some boxes of our canning tomatoes, 10lb box $10 or 20lb box $20. Or just pick them up by the pound for $1.50/lb. *This Friday, Saturday and Sunday we will be celebrating the birth of Farmer Johnny’s first son with Cow Train rides for all the kids and adults at $1.00 off per person! (Usually $3.00) *Come out and enjoy the sunshine, pick your berries and have fun out on the farm! Don’t forget your water.
