Gourmet Food Links from the Oregon
Tricounty Farmers
Almost everyone likes to eat. A few of us aspire to higher culinary
aspirations than the average meal. For these people the journey is part
of the destination.
Because the Oregon Tricounty Farm organization is in the food business
we have some gourmet items at some of the farms. Go to the bottom of
the page to select a farm and learn more about what they have available.
Here are some sites that have more information about gourmet foods:
http://www.gourmetspot.com/
this site has resources for your kitchen. The home page I am looking
at has a delicious chocolate cake all decorated with a spider web of
chocolate on it. Must be about dinner time as I am writing this. There
is also an area for your gourmet questions. One that pops up as I am
looking is, "Where can I find low-carb recipies?" I don't
know for sure but that chocolate cake isn't on the list. Can you guess
I am a chocolate lover. There are sections here on recipies....take
a look
http://diabeticgourmet.com/
this site has recipies for the diabetic. My grandfather was diabetic
and I know how much he craved but also avoided the sweets. Well now
there are more alternatives and your gourmet life doesn't have to end
with a diagnosis of diabetes. They have basic information on diabetes
and recipies for meals. Take a gourmet look here if you have a diabetic
in your family.
http://www.globalgourmet.com/
this is a site dedicated to food and wine. Sometimes refered to as the
good life. Lots of global recipies for those with a taste for foreign
food. A section on cooking with kids which is in some families has become
a lost tradition. This site is worth a look.
http://www.messygourmet.com/
this site appeals to me. There is something I like about eating mangos
and having it run down my face or eating a too big mouth full of berries
that appeals to me. There is a lot of excellent food to be found here
at the farms of the Tricounty Farms. Anyway, back to the site. I like
what they are doing with gourmet foods. They seem to be taking the stuffiness
out of it. This is one of the quotes from the home page, "We are
all Gourmet cooks! Cooking is simple, natural, and most of all, FUN!"
Take a look at this site if this less serious approach appeals to you.
They also have a book you can purchase. Fun just to look at the cover.
http://www.mailameal.com/
This site is good for light food. The offer gourmet meals you can send
to someone via email. This it a tough job looking at all of this great
food and ... be right back...gonna get a snack.
I am back. Had a few cookies. Just got a bit hungry getting this info
together.
Send pictures of a rack of lamb, Duck L'orange, tacos, Candlelight
Dinner, Cheese fondue, Spaghetti and meatballs, Roast beef, Corn on
