Tri-County Farm Fresh Produce

As beautiful summer fruits and vegetables roll in—tomatoes, beans, corn, apples, pears and grapes—you can feel the change in the air. Some of our farmers rest now that harvest has ended; for others, harvest has just begun. Parents and kids alike settle into the school schedule and days shorten.

Apple orchards are beckoning families out with harvest and cider festivals not to miss. Find ones with u-pick and ready-picked apples of all kinds, gigantic apple slingshots, fresh apple donuts, music, and food carts. Find others tucked away on quiet hills with a focus on a quieter time for families to picnic and pick apples.

Then come the pumpkins! You’ll find pumpkins for carving jack-o-lanterns and for baking. Pumpkin patches extend their welcome to fall festivities. Don’t forget to take pictures and capture the memories! The end of October marks the end of season for many farms, while others continue to provide wonderful fall feast produce by appointment or self-serve stands or shortened hours.
