Happy March! The sunshine feels great and we're grateful for the opportunity to get out into the fields. Our plant starts in the greenhouse are super healthy and we're looking forward to transplanting lettuce into the fields next week. Since it's still rather cold, we'll cover the tender transplants with "blankets" to keep them protected from the frost.
Researchers from the University of California recently published a study showing that eating an organic diet for just 1 week can dramatically reduce pesticide levels in our bodies by up to 95%! At Our Table 100% of the produce we sell and use in our kitchen is organic: There is no other grocery store in the area that can make this claim.

You get to come to the farm every Wednesday and pick up a bag of fresh organic veggies, chat with your farmers, and (during the summer) enjoy fresh wood-fired pizza. Pope Francis says that "We human beings are part of the environment. We live in communion with it." In other words, every day is Earth Day! On Sunday April 21st, volunteer on our farm to show your care for the earth at 10am. Then join us for our annual festival to celebrate the earth from 12pm to 4pm.
