Stock up the freezer!

BBQ season is right around the corner and now would be a perfect time to stock up your freezer and be ready to go when the summer comes. We have a steer that is scheduled to go in April 18th. We have one quarter share open for purchase at $3.50/lb. hanging weight, buyer pays butcher fees. Our beef is pasture raised and free to roam on green grass. No growth hormones or steroids are given to our cattle. When grass is scarce they are fed locally grown alfalfa and no grains are fed to our cattle. We raise Wagyu Angus cross breed cattle. Wagyu is a breed from Japan that has natural marbling when they mature. Not only is it wonderful to eat, but it’s healthy for you too. Health experts have discovered the mono-unsaturated to saturated fat ratio is higher in Wagyu then in other beef and, the saturated fat contained in Wagyu is different. Forty percent is in a version called stearic acid, which is regarded as having a minimal impact in raising cholesterol levels. The profile of marbled Wagyu beef is more beneficial and healthier to human health. We breed our Wagyu bull to our Angus cows and come up with the Wagyu Angus cross. They do not have as much marbling as the full Wagyu breed but many of our customers are very pleased with the beef that they have purchased. This steer is going to Ben’s Custom Meats in Dayton. You get the choice of how you want to customize your share and you get to talk directly to the butcher with your instructions. We also have more dates scheduled for steers all the way thru this fall and you can find the dates on our website under the products tab.

We also have pork shares that will be ready the end of July. Our pigs are pasture raised and fed a non GMO finisher. They live the good life on green grass and plenty of pasture to roam around and play. $4.50/lb. hanging weight and buyer pays butcher fees. You will get your choice of how you want to customize your share and you get to talk directly to the butcher with your instructions.

Our first batch of fryers was sold out for April but we have another batch that is going to be ready in May. We are only doing 4 batches this year through July. We sold out of chicken fast last year so if you want to get in on some fresh pasture raised GMO free chicken let us know. $4.95/lb. purchase 5 or more $4.50/lb. purchase 10 or more $4.25/lb. If you want your chicken halved, $5.60/lb. and you can choose fresh or frozen.

If a share is too much for you we also sell USDA certified beef and pork at our farm store. All pasture raised and GMO free.
