We have a steer that is going in next month (May 10th). We have two quarter shares or one 1/2 share that are open for purchase. $3.50/lb. hanging weight, buyer pays butcher fees. Our beef is pasture raised and free to roam on green grass. No growth hormones or steroids are given to our cattle and no pesticides are used. When grass is scarce they are fed locally grown alfalfa and no grains are fed to our cattle. Right now they are enjoying the fresh green spring grass that is plentiful. We raise Wagyu Angus cross breed cattle. Wagyu is a breed from Japan that has natural marbling when they mature. Not only is it wonderful to eat, but it’s healthy for you too. Health experts have discovered the mono-unsaturated to saturated fat ratio is higher in Wagyu then in other beef and, the saturated fat contained in Wagyu is different. Forty percent is in a version called stearic acid, which is regarded as having a minimal impact in raising cholesterol levels. The profile of marbled Wagyu beef is more beneficial and healthier to human health. We breed our Wagyu bull to our Angus cows and come up with the Wagyu Angus cross. They do not have as much marbling as the full Wagyu breed but many of our customers are very pleased with the beef that they have purchased. This steer is going to Ben’s Custom Meats in Dayton. You get the choice of how you want to customize your share and you get to talk directly to the butcher with your instructions. We also have 2 more steers that are scheduled to go in on June 13th to the same butcher and there are shares available for both these steers. You can buy 1/4 share, half or whole. If these dates are to soon for you we have a calendar on our website under the products tab for more scheduled dates that would best fit your needs.

If a share is too much for you we also sell USDA certified beef and pork at our farm store. All pasture raised and GMO free. We have not decided on doing CSA at this moment but we do sell variety packs for our beef and pork (when available for the pork) that works just the same as the CSA but you can order this when your are ready for it.

We also sell Fryers by the half or whole. We are only doing 4 batches of fryers this year and we are already starting on our 3rd batch of them. First 2 batches sold out quickly so if you want pasture raised GMO free chicken you can go to our website and order yours before they are all gone.

Our baby Turkeys are coming in June and July and will be ready to go the Thanksgiving. I know that it is early to think about this but they do go fast! We are raising 75 this year. We have 2 dates scheduled. One for in October for a smaller sized turkey (this will be frozen) or you can go fresh for your holiday meal and they are scheduled for November 20th just 2 days before Thanksgiving, guaranteed fresh!
