BEEF: sold by quarter or half – $3.50 / pound – hanging weight
You can expect 50-55% of the hanging weight in finished product. (Avg. price of $6.35 per pound) The meat we sell by the quarter or half is required to be priced by the hanging weight. The hanging weight is taken right after the animal is processed. The cost of the meat to the customer is calculated by multiplying the hanging weight by the hanging weight cost. Then the animal is cut to the customer’s request and is delivered in packages. The actual delivered weight is typically 50 to 55% of the hanging weight. Our cows are grown on pasture in a low stress environment with no antibiotics or hormones added. We do give them a small amount of grain as supplement. I think you will find the beef to be delicious.
This year we only have one cow, and the first half is spoken for, so call or email early if you are interested. The last half won’t last long!
