It might be snowing but Spring is definitely here. The daffodils and crocuses (or is it croci?) are starting to poke out of the ground and our forsythia is blooming. Soon we will be resetting our clocks and springing ahead at which point we farmers can start our days earlier and get a whole lot done! We’ve been hiring for the past few months and are delighted to welcome Justine, Lydia, Sam, and Cloe to Our Table! We’re still looking for farmers and a store co-manager so if you know anyone suitable please send them our way!
Thanks to a very generous grant from the PGE Renewable Development Fund, Our Table is going 100% solar! We are installing 75kW of solar panels (plus battery backup) that will not only power the entire farm, but will also allow us to grow heat-sensitive crops in the summer months under the shade of the solar panels. This combination of agriculture and photo-voltaic solar panels is called Agrivoltaics and thanks to a partnership with OSU, Our Table will be at the cutting edge of the field! Read more here.

Recent studies suggest that 50% of the damage done to a human body from toxic chemicals occurs in-utero and is caused by pesticides on fruits and vegetables consumed by pregnant mothers! We want to help improve the odds for the next generation of our community by offering a free or reduced price CSA share of organic fruit and veggies from our farm to all pregnant women in our community. MARCH CALENDAR
We have lots of reasons for you to visit the farm this month! We’ll start things off with some delicious happy hour themes, including meatballs on March 8th in honor of National Meatball Day. Pi(e) day on the 14th means super delicious and affordable slices of pie, and bagel day on the 24th is your chance to eat a real New York style boiled bagel! We’ll close the month with an Easter cookie decorating event on the 27th and a Easter menu for happy hour on the 30th. Don’t forget Spring Break farm camp for the kiddos from March 26-28!
