Morning Shade Farm is open for U-pick berries 8 am to 3 pm Wednesday through Sunday and closed on Monday and Tuesday. We currently have Upick Blueberries, Black Currants, Red Currants, Raspberries, Columbia Star Marions, Loganberries, and Sylvan and Katata blackberries. Boysenberries are just starting and should be good picking starting July13. Early orchard fruit should be available starting the end of July or early August. All u-pick berries are $2.30 per lb.
Fresh picked Blueberries cleaned of stems and soft fruit and packed 10 pounds (13 pints) in heavy duty ziplock, freezer-ready bags can be ordered for pickup any day of the week. You can also get them already frozen from this years pick for the same price. Please place orders on line at www.morningshadefarm.com or by calling the farm at 503-651-2622. Prices for picked or frozen blueberries are:
· $32 for a 10 lb bag (about 13 pints)
· $30 per 10 lb bag for 100 lbs or more;
· $29 per 10 lb bag for 300 lbs or more;
· $28 per 10 lb bag for 500 lbs or more;
12 pint cardboard flats of fresh blueberries are also available for $34. Call for wholesale pricing on flats.
Morning Shade Farm is located at 8345 S. Barnards Road, 7 miles south of Canby (30 miles south of Portland) in a peaceful country setting with picnic tables and flush toilets and handwashing facilities. We provide clean plastic buckets with a heavy duty plastic bag insert to pick into (take the berries home in the bag), or you can pick into your own containers. We prefer cash or checks, and can also accept credit cards and WIC/FDNP food vouchers. Sorry no dogs allowed.
We minimize our use of chemicals, using natural, non-synthetic sprays for insects only when monitoring shows it is needed.
All of our orchard fruit and vegetables are grown with 100 percent natural, non-synthetic practices without the added cost of organic certification. All of our irrigation and barn electricity is supplied by on-site solar energy. We are bee and salmon friendly.
Berry Nursery – we have a very large selection of blueberry, other berry plants, and fruit trees in 1, 3, 7 and 15 gallon containers. Nursery sales are by appointment only by calling or texting Micah at 541-543-7566. The nursery is located just west of the main farm behind a rental house at 8301 S. Barnards Rd. Canby.
