After a long, cool, wet spring, it is finally berry time at West Union Gardens! For the next 10 days or so we’ll have so many varieties of berries at once!
Happening right now and very soon . . .
- Silvan, Columbia Sunrise and Columbia Giant blackberries
- Tayberries & Loganberries (raspberry-blackberry crosses)
- Black currants now, red and white currants coming up
- Boysenberries and Marionberries almost ready, possibly by the 15th.
Coming up . . .
- Blueberries (end of July)
- Triple Crown blackberries (end of July or early August)
All of these are available for u-picking, many of them are also available ready-picked in our farmstore, or for ordering online. It’s a good idea to call 503-645-1592, or check the daily update at www.westuniongardens.com before you head out so that you’ll know what to expect.
To reserve ready-picked berries, go to www.westuniongardens.com, look for the “Online Ordering” button, and make your purchase there. The list of what is available is updated each day as the produce comes in from the field. We are not able to take orders for more than a day out, but we will do our best to let you know on that site when you can expect inventory updates. When you arrive, look for the “online order pickup” parking spots right in front of the farmstand!
