Wet, cold, rinse, repeat. That seems to have been the theme song for the past few months! I was in India for almost 3 weeks in the middle of a crushing heat wave so it was a real shock to be back on the farm! The good news is that waterways are full and thanks to our no-till practices, the ground has captured plenty of moisture to get us through the summer, and pollen allergies are not as bad as normal (yet). The bad news is that most of our outdoor crops are delayed. We won’t have blueberries until the first week of July at the earliest (blueberry u-pick will start around July 9th).
THE BEST PRODUCE
In March, thanks partially to support from our friends at the Organically Grown Company, we made some big changes to our store. The most visible change was a massive expansion to our produce section. We want to be the place where you can buy the best local organic produce in the region. Think farmers market quality with the convenience of 6 days/week availability and grocery store prices!
Despite this wet spring, our case already has a number of items from our own farm (1/4 food miles anyone?!) and as the weather warms up, we’ll have a lot more. Come check it out!
