A rarely discussed nutrition science finding is that eating a portion of ice-cream every day has positive health impacts. Scientists struggle to understand the biological mechanisms involved, but about a zillion scoops of ice-cream later, I have a theory based on personal experience — ice cream makes us happy and happy people are healthier people! Combine this fact with the recent report from the Surgeon General recommending that we all spend more time communing with friends and neighbors and you have a recipe for a happy (and perhaps even long and healthy) life: share ice-cream every day with others!!!

Our rather sudden and speedy transition from winter to summer means that our blueberries, which looked like they were going to be late this year have caught up and might even ripen early!
