Hello from Bells Orchard.
We hope you are enjoying our beautiful spring. Here is a quick 2026 orchard update. See you at the Red Barn this summer!
New This Year
The White Oak Glen Pavilion-Our new pavilion will be available to rent this year. It is a great outdoor venue for birthday parties, family gatherings or any other event you would like to have in a quiet outdoor setting. Check it out here: https://bellsorchard.com/white-oak-glen-and-pavilion-at-bells-orchard/
Persimmons-We will have our first crop of Fuyu persimmons this year. Persimmons ripen late in the year so we will close at the end of the pear season and then reopen briefly in November or December for persimmons.
Pears-We planted 20 red Bartlett pears a year ago and they have a huge crop on them. We’ll have to thin most of it off to prevent the new, young branches from breaking but we will have a few red Bartletts this year.
Old Favorites
Cherries-The cherry set looks good. The Bing crop is a little light. This will be the 2nd summer for our new sour cherry block and they have a good set. We should have cherries around July first.
Peaches-We have a very good crop of all peach varieties. There is almost no peach leaf curl this year which is a big plus. Peaches should start mid July and continue through August.
Apples-The biggest news is there are lots of Fuji apples this year. Last year we had none. The honeycrisp crop also looks strong along with all the other varieties. We should have a great apple season beginning in August and continuing into October.
Pears-There is a healthy crop of regular Bartletts as well as Moonglow, Comice and Bosc. Pears will be available in late August and September.
