At the Farm this week

What’s happening at the Farm

Hello from Wachlin Farms

Hope you all are having a great week so far.

We are getting a lot of questions about Tomatoes lately and man I am ready for them too. We have had a very strange year of weather and all of our Crops have been about 3 weeks behind and we thank you so much for your patience but the end of waiting is in sight and we are starting to get a few ripe Tomatoes each day so we will keep you updated on when we will have the first ones available in the market and our subscription boxes,  those will likely be Cherry Tomatoes and Romas.

We will also have Upick Tomatoes later in the Season when more of them are ripe all at once. Once we have a lot more ripe we will also have lots of Large Slicer tomatoes, San Marzanos great for Sauce and lots of other Sizes, Colors and varieties in between.

This week we have No Spray Veggies such as:

  • Green beans
  • Celery
  • Tomatillos
  • Basil
  • Shishitos
  • Lemon Cucumbers
  • Mixed Zucchini Summer Squash
  • First small picking of Ground Cherries

In the next coming weeks we will expect to have:

  •  Tomatoes
  • Cherry Tomatoes
  •  More Ground Cherries
  • Romaine Lettuce
  • Butter Lettuce
  • Jalapenos
  • Bell Peppers

At the Purple Hen Flowers right now they have Upick Garden Flowers and Sunflowers.  Lots of beautiful hanging baskets on sale for only 15.00 each! Plus they have also marked down their annuals and many Perennials so now is the time to stock up.

There is still time if you’d like to purchase a Veggie box for the week so just check out our website and get signed up.

Plus as always you can come right to the Farm and shop in the Market.
